DJI’s First Foray Into The “Selfie Drone” Space
The DJI Spark released in August 2018 as a niche UAV targeting active folks who want to take more selfies. How best to get a leg up on your instagram or twitter competition than with stunning aerial shots and pans.
The Spark is a tiny little UAV at only 300g weight, with the Mavic series weighing roughly 3x as much and having twice the girth.
The Spark features a respectable 16 min flight time for its tiny 1480 mAh battery.
Tiny Means “Crappy”, Right?
Nope, DJI packs a ton of punch into this miniature platform in terms of camera sensor and flight capabilities.
The Spark’s camera is powered by the same fantastic 12 megapixel 1/2.3″ CMOS sensor as many models in the Mavic line and can support 4k photos and 1080p video at 30 fps.
While the Spark might not be powerful enough for commercial use it’s plenty powerful and ultra portable for the active person who wants to capture some quick selfies from amazing angles
